Student Spotlight: Joey Wu’s Journey from Waterroots to Global Impact

Joey Wu, one of our talented VIPER students, is making remarkable strides in environmental sustainability and storytelling. As a dual-degree student in Bioengineering and Environmental Science, Joey founded Waterroots, a nonprofit that highlights how diverse cultures tackle water and climate challenges. Drawing on his personal experiences with water stress, Waterroots brings stories of resilience and innovation to light, fostering global awareness and actionable solutions to water insecurity.

Joey has been recognized for his achievements and vision, recently named a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford and being spotlighted in the School of Arts and Sciences' OMNIA magazine. Click here to read the full article.
